I’ve spent more than 20 years navigating Corporate America, and I have learned a lot along the way.

Working for big companies including Amazon, Bridgestone Americas, DuPont Pioneer, and Wells Fargo - I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside incredibly talented people at every stage of their careers.

I’ve hired people. Led teams. Developed talent. I’ve been on both sides of the interview table. And I have watched careers take off, careers stall, and careers take unexpected turns - including my own.

Nobody really teaches you how to navigate your career.

School can prepare you for your first job. Your company can teach you how to do your job. But who teaches you how to figure out what you actually want? How to build a resume that gets noticed? How to interview with confidence? How to ask for a promotion? How to navigate a difficult boss? Or how to know when it’s time to make a change?

Looking back on my career, one thing has been consistent - I knew what my North Star and my Why was. But the typical career coaching questions like “tell me where you want to me in ten years” left me stumped. Couple that with companies that put the responsibility for career development on the employee, and I never really had a roadmap.

I’ll be honest and tell you I sort of fumbled my way into what (in hindsight) appears to be a very successful career path. In reality, I was just winging it. The consistent through line is that I was always just focused on taking the best next step. Not worrying about five years from now. Or even a year from now. What is the best next step today.

Not every step turned out the way I expected. Multi-year projects and roles that got de-funded early. Start ups that didn’t take off as expected. That happens. All you can do is start where you are today. Right now.

That’s why I created Next Step.

My approach isn’t about telling you what you should do with your life or handing you a cookie-cutter plan.

It’s about asking the right questions, getting clear on what matters to you, giving you honest perspective, and helping you turn uncertainty into action.

And I want to make this support affordable and accessible. I have a full time job. Coaching isn’t my next career - it’s a passion project.
